Why Are There So Many Hour-Long Song Loop YouTube?

You may have seen a recent trend on YouTube when users keep playing the same music for hours on end. What is the purpose and which are the best?

The last time you settled in for an evening of YouTube relaxation and opened a nice music video, you might have noticed a brand-new occurrence. Your preferred pop tunes have experienced a bizarre transformation. On YouTube, the identical music has been played back-to-back for an hour by several users. Millions of people have listened to the most well-known renditions of well-known songs, and if you type the name of practically any popular song into the YouTube search field, the site will automatically add "1 hour" as a suggested search. Hearing the tunes on the radio every hour, on the hour, wasn't enough. not even close, by the goddamn way.

It makes sense right away: How else are we expected to appreciate the subtlety of Justin Bieber's rebranding? Until the mysteries of mankind are revealed, we must listen to his croons repeatedly. What DO I MEAN when I nod in agreement? In actuality, I want to say "no," but how? What then? Am I truly refusing to accept a destiny whose door is kept open by Justin Bieber? What effects does my negation have? And who the hell does Justin Bieber think he is to try to disrupt our internal discussion in such a way?

Psychologists have discovered evidence that suggests humans become increasingly emotionally attached to music over time. One of the foremost experts on the subject and the author of the recent book On Repeat: How Music Plays the Mind, Elizabeth Margulis, told NPR last year that "mere exposure," a straightforward psychological phenomenon, is partly to blame. We simply respond more positively to music when we hear it more than once.

According to Maugulis, who spoke to NPR, "the second time you hear it, you know what to expect to a certain level, even if you don't realize you know." "You can simply manage that series of noises better. And all your mind seems to be saying is, "Oh, I like this! This song is great! But that is incorrectly attributed.

Margulis claims that since repetition appeals to our brains, around 90% of the music we listen to is music we have already heard. Furthermore, that probably explains why we choose to listen to the same song repeatedly for an hour as opposed to, instance, letting YouTube's auto-play feature take control. Because you lack the strength to find someone new, these songs are the awful ex-boyfriend you continue to hang out with. You're too weak, they're too simple, and all of a sudden, "Uma Thurman" is playing continuously for an hour.

I like to believe that Pitbull has to hear "Dalé!" every three minutes just to stay alive, and these loops get the job done faster, even though it's unclear whether musicians appreciate these hour-long loops or why an hour is the typical length. I sorted through the best and worst hour-long loop youtube the internet had to offer to make the most of everyone's hours of repeat listening. Here's my advice:

Shawn Mendes – Stitches

"After listening to this so many times it seems like he's singing 'farting on tamales' instead of 'falling unto my knees,'" YouTube user Leyla Nichole commented on a since-deleted version of this. I'll stop here.

Prior to finishing the tab, wait until you hear the phrase "farting on tamales."

Pia Mia – “Do It Again”

Imagine having a brief relationship with Chris Brown. That is the subject of this song.

Don't even open the tab, you know what I mean. Projected time before shutting tab.

Prince Royce feat. Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull - "Back It Up"

This is "Cool," as the lone comment on the video would have you believe.

Time remaining before closing the tab: 46:50. After listening to J. Lo sing about dropping it low, you decide to conclude on a literal high note.

Wiz Khalifa feat. Charlie Puth - "See You Again"

B1GBUD2007, a YouTube user, sums it up thus: "Rip Paul Walker Still sobbing in 2015."

Time remaining before closing the tab: 4:32. While sobbing a single tear, listen once and then crank your transmission for all the Walkers we've lost.

Maroon 5 – “Sugar”

Your love for your new wife, Victoria Secret model Behati Prinsloo, is the subject of the song "Sugar." She's hotter than, like, a day in Southern California.

Time remaining before closing the tab: 31:20. After hearing Adam Levine say "sugar" for the previous 30 minutes, you need to take a break to acquire some candy from the office kitchen.
